Port of Catoosa Cleanup
Acme’s services were requested at the Port of Catoosa for a crude oil spill. Approximately 200 barrels of oil was released into the channel causing it to be closed down to any incoming and outgoing barges.
Acme worked closely with Port Authorities and the Coast Guard; it was critical to get the spill contained quickly so that the channel could be reopened since it’s a major port for importing and exporting materials via water in the Midwest.
Acme was able to recover the bulk of the product and get the channel reopened within 7 days. Additional clean up and decon of barges took place for the next several weeks.
During the spill clean-up Acme deployed the following equipment: 2,000 ft. of 18” Acme Containment boom, 8 - 16’ boats, 1 – response trailer, 1 – boom trailer, plus numerous skimmers and pumps.
